Welcome to 2BSD

We are a group of three rural parishes, situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty in West Berkshire, midway between Reading and Newbury. As part of God’s family in this area, we seek to honour God and his creation, and share his love with the people around us.

Each church has its own regular congregation and distinctive style of worship, ranging from traditional through to more contemporary. However, we share many things and are working together to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

Our aim is To know Christ and to make Him known.

They say life is a journey. The Christian faith is no different. We are on a journey, growing in our knowledge and love of God, and his love for us. Whether you have started this journey yourself, or you’re not sure yet what Christianity is really all about, we’d love you to come and join us.

The Bell Tower at St Mary’s, Marlston

The parish is very grateful to have received recent grants from the National Churches Trust and from the Eling Estate for some urgent repairs to the bell tower at St Mary’s, Marlston. The National Churches Trust (www.nationalchurchestrust.org) performs vital work in maintaining the historic fabric of our churches and in helping to keep them open, and they are always looking for new members. Eling Estate meanwhile will be well known to many in the parish for its community projects and charitable support in the area. Repairs to the bell tower (which has one of the oldest bells in Berkshire, dated 1336,) should be complete by May.
