Rector’s Update 17/06/2024
Over the past couple of weeks, we have enjoyed hosting many of you for tea at the Vicarage and are looking forward to friends from St Peter’s coming early next month. We realise that some have not been able to join us so will arrange a cross church gathering later in the summer.
This Thursday (20th June) Caroline and I together with a few others will be going to the Downland Filling Station at 7.30pm, (refreshments are served from 7.15pm). These meetings are places of refreshment for those of us in rural ministry where we can worship and pray together with those from other churches in the area. This month James Nickols the COO of The Filling Station Trust, speaks about Living in Purity and Power. Why not come along too? It meets at Hampstead Norreys Village Hall, RG18 0TR.
As you know, a group from the 2BSD churches, will be attending New Wine this summer, in Shepton Mallet from Thursday 25th to Tuesday 30th July. A number of people have said that they would like to come along for the day on Monday 29th. It would be great if others would come along too but we also need a car driver or two (the cost of petrol can be shared) to ferry people back and forth on the Monday, or enough people to make hiring a minibus viable. Interested – do let me know. You can book day tickets here. https://newwineunited.festivalpro.com/form/rzQbZVOpaCWPLDIRvCLH/45
Don’t forget that we are holding a Benefice Harvest Supper with a Barn Dance in the Black Barn at Rushall farm on Saturday 28th September. This will be early evening so that families can come along too. We’ll need some volunteers from each church to help with organising the event and with the food preparation but please do make sure that you have the date in your diary.
Finally, it looks as though the weather may be settling down a bit and I hope that you will be able to enjoy the sunshine. Have a good week and may God bless you.
