Rector’s Update 21/1/25

On Sunday we started a new sermon series working through the book of Ephesians.  It’s a great book with lots of helpful advice for living the Christian life today.  If you missed the opening talk you can catch up by listening to the talk given at St Mary’s Bucklebury https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtaxoJsH-QM

This coming Sunday (26th), as well as our usual morning services, we have an afternoon tea for all of our congregations.  It will be at All Saints’ Church, 3.30pm to 5pm.  Do come along if you can as it’s a good opportunity to meet others from across the Benefice.  If any bakers would like to bring something to share that would be great – please do label the ingredients.

We are so grateful to everyone who responded to the financial review last autumn.  The Treasurers of all three parishes have reported an increase in overall giving and in those giving monthly by Standing Order – thank you so much.

Looking ahead, Lent begins on Ash Wednesday 5th March when we will have a single evening service for the whole Benefice.  Throughout Lent there will be an evening course on Wednesdays – more details later but please do put the dates in your diary now.

Have a good week

Steve
