Rector’s Update 31/03/2025
Yesterday we marked Mothering Sunday in all our churches with Family/All Age Services and it was wonderful to be able to give gifts of flowers to those present, thank you to those who prepared them at the various churches. As we continue our Lenten journey our thoughts turn increasingly to the cross and the events of Holy Week. Details of all our special services during Holy Week and Easter are available in the Parish Magazines and in our Churches.
As you know, we have not yet been able to appoint a Team Vicar (house for duty). This is deeply frustrating as we are keen to grow the work of the team especially in Bradfield and Stanford Dingley. Please do keep praying for something to shift and the right person to emerge. We have had a couple of prayer meetings specifically to focus on this and are planning to meet again on Saturday 3rd May at 9am.
Thank you to everyone who has returned a completed Electoral Roll form. There are still a few outstanding in each Parish so if you haven’t yet filled one in please can you do so during this coming week. If you need a fresh form that’s not a problem, just let Debbie Kent in the Church Office know so that another can be sent to you.
If you love to read fiction Caroline Newbold is hoping to set up a 2bsd Book Group for members of our churches (and friends if space). This would involve reading and discussing a different book each month and would take place in members’ homes. Please contact her if interested caroline@2bsd.org.uk
Have a good week
Steve
